Information Officer
In terms of POPIA, the head of a private body is automatically designated as the Information Officer. {InstaBiz} has formally appointed the following person to fulfil this role.
All POPIA and PAIA requests, complaints, and data subject enquiries should be directed to the Information Officer using the contact details provided.
Responsibilities
The Information Officer is responsible for ensuring that {InstaBiz} complies with all applicable data protection legislation and handles personal information lawfully, transparently, and responsibly.
Your Rights as a Data Subject
In terms of POPIA, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information held by {InstaBiz}. To exercise any of these rights, contact the Information Officer using the details in Section 1.
Right of Access
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Right to Correction
You may request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected or updated.
Right to Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal information where it is no longer required, subject to legal retention obligations.
Right to Object
You may object to the processing of your personal information, including where processing is for direct marketing purposes.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your personal information has been processed unlawfully.
Legal Alignment
{InstaBiz} processes personal information in compliance with applicable South African legislation, including the following Acts:
Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013
Governs the lawful processing of personal information by public and private bodies in South Africa.
Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000
Governs the right of access to information held by public and private bodies in South Africa.
Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002
Governs electronic communications, data messages, and online transactions in South Africa.
PAIA and POPIA Requests
Requests for access to information held by {InstaBiz} in terms of PAIA, or requests relating to personal information in terms of POPIA, must be submitted to the Information Officer.
Requests must be submitted using the prescribed PAIA Form C where applicable. Form C is available from the Department of Justice at www.justice.gov.za, or upon request from the Information Officer.

Please note: Requests submitted by any other means will not be regarded as valid PAIA requests. A non-refundable request fee of R50.00 applies unless you are requesting access to your own personal information.
Information Regulator of South Africa
If you are not satisfied with how {InstaBiz} has handled your personal information or a request, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the Information Regulator.
Lodging a complaint with the Information Regulator does not affect your right to seek relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
